Alsager Town Centre - looking west down Lawton Road

Alsager has such a vibrant and active community which we are proud to be a part of. And we want to continue to make sure that Alsager stays vibrant and that prosperity is experienced by all.

Alsager has a number of local independent businesses but high streets across the country have been struggling, especially since the pandemic. We have seen local businesses close their doors. More needs to be done to re-vitalise our local economy and support our town centre.

The cost of living crisis has impacted on so many families and we will do whatever is possible to help those struggling. We will work to improve and expand services that help make people’s lives better and provide opportunities.

If elected, we plan to:

  • Support Alsager businesses and community groups to help keep our town vibrant and prosperous
  • Investigate and seek to introduce a shop local scheme for our town
  • Promote our local market and independent traders
  • Look into town centre renewal and seek funding and private investment to improve the public realm
  • Implement and roll out the Alsager Town Centre Vitality Plan
  • Do as much as we can to help those struggling with the cost of living
  • Lobby government for fairer funding for our schools, ensuring they are no longer some of the lowest funded in the country
  • Work to increase access to child mental health services and seek to provide free school meals for all primary-school pupils and support schools providing breakfast clubs
  • Support the delivery of a Youth Zone in Crewe – a high-quality youth facility that will also benefit neighbouring areas such as Alsager
  • Support local cultural forums such as our library and local museums
  • Support investment in sport and leisure facilities
