Last Thursday, Cheshire East Council’s Environment & Communities Committee voted on the future of the Household Waste Recycling Centre provision and voted to keep Alsager’s HWRC site open as one of the four core sites in Cheshire East.
Cheshire East Officers did not recommend the sub-option to close Alsager in order to open a new site in Congleton for approval.
Alsager Town Council had put up a strong objection and working with colleagues, Cllr Michael Unett started a petition signed by over 3,000 people.
