Action against plans for warehousing on Radway Green North are successful after the plans are refused by the Strategic Planning Board.
BAE had submitted plans to build numerous warehouses on the Radway Green North site on Crewe Road. These warehouses would have been detrimental to Alsager and would have only provided a few low-paid jobs.
Working with residents and the Crewe Rd Action Group, we opposed these plans & have suggested a better alternative for employment on this site.
The application (18/2522C) went before the Strategic Planning Board on 21st November 2018. Many residents and councillors were present to object to the application. Michael Unett attended to speak against these plans.
The Strategic Planning Board refused the application after votes in favour of refusal from Labour, Liberal Democrat and Independent Councillors.
We would like to say thank you to all the residents who objected and well done to the Crewe Rd Action Group. We would also like to pay tribute to the brilliant Leslie Rosenthal, who was instrumental in opposing these plans. Leslie sadly passed away last year.
